Joseph

Joseph was a simple God fearing man.  He was engaged to a virgin-a young girl named Mary.  He had a carpenter's shop.   One day he found out that Mary was with child.  He didn't want to have her stoned.  He decided to have her put away secretly.  An angel interrupted him and told him not to fear taking Mary as his wife.  He didn't want the stigma of marrying a girl considered an immoral person.  But, he did what the angel told him to do.  He simply obeyed.
When Mary was about to deliver.  God interrupted Joseph's life again by having Herod to make a law that everyone should pay taxes.  This means Joseph and Mary would have to travel to Bethlehem when it would be time for Mary to have the baby.  Fullfilling the Scripture in Micah 5: 2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose going forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
They make the long tedious journey to Bethlehem, only to find there is no room anywhere for them.   He doesn't say anything, but makes Mary as comfortable in a birthing stable.  It was a noisy, filthy, and cold place.  He puts down fresh straw and Jesus is born.
His carpenter's shop once again was closed down for probably weeks again.  Everything is about as normal, as it could be for about two years.   Wise men follow the star that leads them to their little home.  They bring gifts one was of gold.  Soon this gift would be needed for an angel interrupts  Joseph's life again to tell him to pack his bags quickly and go to Egypt to live.  There Jesus would spend his early childhood, safe from King Herod, who was trying to kill him.  Fearful of Jesus taking his throne, he over reacts to the news that Jesus was born and had all the male children under two years old killed.
Joseph's life was interrupted again, Jesus was twelve years old and they had gone to worship at the Temple.  After sacrifices and worship was completed Mary and Joseph leave for home.  Jesus was nowhere to be found.  They were confident he was among them somewhere, talking and singing with the other children.  After three days it came to their attention, He was not with them.  More delays three days back to find Jesus.  What could he possibly be doing after all everything was over.  He was teaching in the Temple and said the strangest thing to them. "I must be about my Father's business.  These words Joseph must not have understood, but he remains quiet.  He was a godly man, who simply obeyed God.  We should follow his example.
God interrupts our lives, just like He did Joseph's in one way or another to bless us and give us a chance to enter into His plan.  We should trust Him when we don't understand.
