A married couple
had been separated by war. The young
lady had to flee the country. The young
man was taken prisoner. Before the lady
left, she had embroidered a most exquisite table cloth. It had been lost.
Years later in
Brooklyn got an old run down church and had worked hard to repair it. They had planned to open for services in
December. A storm came and ruined a
sectiony in front of the church. The
couple decided to cancel the church service.
While going to the church the Pastor saw a sign for a sale. He went in the store and found the most
beautifully embroidered table cloth. It
was large and it dawn on him that it looked like the size that would fit the
damaged wall. Sure enough it fit and made
the whole wall look like a masterpiece.
An older lady missed her bus and had to wait for another one. The Pastor invited her to wait in the church. She couldn’t believe her eyes, when her eyes
spotted the table cloth with her initials that she had engraved so many years
ago. The Pastor took her home.
They had a very
special service that Christmas Eve. An
older man stayed after the service with tears in his eyes he ask, where did you
get that tablecloth? It was my wife’s
. The Pastor took him to the little
house to reunite with his wife.
God’s ways are
not ours. What appears to be disasters
to us may be part of His plan. Proverbs
3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding. Man can cause delays ,but God can put it back
together in a better way.
